ussian forces have taken full control of Pisky, a village on the outskirts in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, Interfax cited the Russian defence ministry as saying on Saturday. Ukraine’s military command said later that “fierce fighting” continued in the village.
The two primary road bridges giving access to the pocket of Russian-occupied territory on the west bank of the Dnipro in Ukraine’s Kherson region are now probably out of use for the purposes of substantial Russian military resupply, British military intelligence said on Saturday, which the UK’s defence ministry has described as a key vulnerability.

Agitând spectrul unui dezastru nuclear, atacând perimetrul atomocentralei dar blamând pentru aceasta Rusia, regimul de la Kiev poate spera într-o implicare mult mai accentuată a aliaților săi de facto, putând astfel să spere la satisfacerea unora dintre nevoile sale esențiale: câteva mii/zeci de mii de soldați NATO (eventual sub steag ONU, pentru a asigura securitatea zonei în care se află centrala nucleară); acoperire aeriană minim în zona Zaporizhzhia – Donetsk – Kherson, ceea ce ar permite desfășurarea unei ofensive limitate în aceste zone sau chiar mai mult; o creștere cantitativă cuplată cu o diversificare a tipurilor de armament primite (inclusiv aviație și artilerie la mare distanță).

Am fost întrebat de ce în materialele cuprinse generic sub numele „Războiul din Ucraina. Update” scriu aproape exclusiv despre acțiunile militare ale rușilor. Răspunsul scurt este ”pentru că din punct de vedere militar, doar acțiunile rușilor contează în acest moment.”

George Damian (FB): Lipsa de coerență

Problema este în lipsa de coerență: pe de o parte Kievul a ales să ducă luptele în mediul urban (o decizie corectă din punctul de vedere al eficienței), pe de altă parte tot Kievul reclamă atacarea țintelor civile. Raportul Amnesty International deranjează tocmai pentru că scoate la iveală această ipocrizie.

v-a lăsat impresia unui Zelensky inofensiv și bonom. Nu este. A „reușit” pierderea unei suprafețe importante din Ucraina și, cel mai probabil, sub conducerea sa, Ucraina va înceta să funcționeze în interiorul granițelelor recunoscute la 24 februarie ,distrugerea a 80% din totalul forțelor militare profesioniste, anihilarea completă a opoziției și confiscarea sediilor acestor partide. Pe de altă parte, Marcel Ciolacu (25% de încredere) îl devansează nu numai pe Ciucă (18%) dar și pe Iohannis (15%) ceea ce indică faptul că (1) românii sunt sceptici cu privire la întreaga clasă politică autohtonă și (2) PSD a acționat, pe linia comunicării politice, mult mai abil decât PNL și Preșidenția.

If scenario two plays out, however, Zelensky’s position will be markedly worse. He will have lost nearly half his country and an irreplaceable majority of his trained and experienced troops. It is possible to mobilize many hundreds of thousands of new troops, but years of experience and training can’t be replicated; it has to be built, and that will take years. The Ukrainian government would be faced with the ugly choice of either trying to continue the fight into 2023 – with the prospect it would continue losing even more territory and men – or seeking a negotiated settlement from a position of weakness.
